FRIDAY  3 SEPTEMBER 2010: Curry night! Figueredo’s Beef Madras. You have to try these curry powders and the recipe on the packet. They are divine. But if you can’t be bothered cooking and you’re in Brisbane try the restaurant.

THURSDAY 2 SEPTEMBER 2010: Dinner with the girls at Alegria, Park Road, Brisbane. The paella was sensational. Those left at home had cheese omelette and left over minestrone!

WEDNESDAY 1 SEPTEMBER 2010: Chicken Stir Fry. Ho hum, but yum.

TUESDAY 31 AUGUST 2010: Minestrone Soup with Parmesan Garlic Toast. I stole the Parmesan toast recipe from this minestrone recipe on Epicurious.

MONDAY 30 AUGUST 2010: Baked Moroccan Chicken and Rice with Moroccan-style carrot salad. These were delicious together. The carrot salad was really nice!

SUNDAY 29 AUGUST 2010: (Flaming) Garlic and Lemon Butterfly Chicken. I love it when I don’t have to cook…especially when the results were this spectacular!

SATURDAY 28 AUGUST 2010: BBQ steak with Mushroom sauce, steamed vegetables and lyonnaise potatoes.

THURSDAY 26 AUGUST 2010: Take Away!

WEDNESDAY 25 AUGUST 2010: Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli with Pesto. Ho hum!

TUESDAY 24 AUGUST 2010: Bacon, Mushroom and Tomato Risotto. I need more risotto practice.

MONDAY 23 AUGUST 2010: Rosemary and garlic roast lamb with roasted vegetables. Love a lamb roast.

SUNDAY 22 AUGUST 2010: Marinated steak, feta & green onion rissoles, pumpkin & goats cheese salad, feta & tomato salad (from Jill Dupleix’s Totally Simple Food). If you are a fan of goats cheese please try this salad. It is divine.

SATURDAY 21 AUGUST 2010: Chinese Chicken Rice

FRIDAY 20 AUGUST 2010: 5TH Element with the girls. Great cocktails and delicious tapas. Those left at home had left overs!

THURSDAY 19 AUGUST 2010: Homemade Pizza
You have to try this: 200g natural yoghurt mixed with a cup of s-r flour. Cook for 10 minutes at 180 C, then add pizza toppings and cook for another 15 minutes. So simple.

WEDNESDAY 18 AUGUST 2010: Jill Dupleix’s Baked Spaghetti. Looks pretty average here but it tastes spectacular. Think of a fantastic spag bolg x 10! Yum.

TUESDAY 17 AUGUST 2010: Vegetable Curry with Yoghurt. A healthy choice!

MONDAY, 16 AUGUST 2010: Maple baked chicken with sweet potato. A simple meal that’s a real treat. Be sure to cook the veges for 20-30 minutes longer than recommended in the recipe.

SUNDAY, 15 AUGUST 2010: Corned Beef with Peppercorn Sauce. What a boring first post!!!!

  1. Call me crazy but I think I might try the maple baked chicken on the girls…….what’s not to love about it?….but that said I won’t get my hopes up to high.

    • It was delicious. The chicken was so tender. But – be warned – the veges definitely need to cook for longer than the time on the recipe. I think they need at least an extra 20 minutes. I used mixed Chicken pieces but I think it would be delicious with thighs, especially if you can get them with the skin on.
